The Town will soon begin the Chapel Hill Accidental Alarm Program (CHAAP) to decrease the number of accidental alarms (or false alarms) and manage the Town's safety resources wisely. This means downtown business and property owners that have alarm systems, or are planning on installing one, will soon be required to register their alarm system and obtain a permit.  More information can be found here.  
 
Please join the Chapel Hill Downtown Partnership and the Chapel Hill Police Department to learn about this program at an information session for downtown merchants and property owners on:  
 
 Wednesday, March 12 
 2:00 pm to 3:30 pm
The meeting will be held at B[S]ki's, located at 147 East Franklin Street. www.bskis.com 
 
Also attending will be officers and staff from the Police Department including the Crisis Unit, Alcohol Law Enforcement, Public Information/Media, Special Events, and Community Services Officers. This will be a great opportunity to meet the officers that are involved with our downtown!
