Art and Activism in India since 1989
For over 20 years, the influential, Delhi-based artist collective known as Sahmat has taken a consistent stance against the threats of religious fundamentalism and sectarianism in India using a vibrant mix of high art and street culture.
In the first major exhibition about the group organized for U.S. audiences, The Sahmat Collective: Art and Activism in India since 1989 features work by more than 60 contemporary Indian artists. On view through January 5, 2014.
A wide variety of public programs will enrich your discovery of The Sahmat Collective throughout the fall! Click here for more info.
