Artist: Jason Thomas Clark
Title: Bridges & Islands
When: Nov. 14 – Dec 5
Where: 3 Birds Marketing; 505-B W. Franklin St.; Chapel Hill, NC 27516
Jason T Clark of Jacksonville, NC brings his unique form of artistic expression to the lobby gallery space of 3 Birds Marketing. This full-time artist utilizes a form of stenciling called pochoir to create intricate and expressive works of art. The creative concept behind pochoir is what led him to title his exhibit “Bridges & Islands.”
“Bridges and Islands is a direct reference to the complex nature of pochoir painting. Bridges are connectors between anything from abstract ideas to land masses. Sometimes, places and ideas cannot be reached until a bridge is built. In pochoir painting this is always a reality that must be taken into consideration. The tiny islands that make up one layer cannot stand alone. Without the connecting bridges no line, shape or form is realized and the painting will not exist.”
Join us Friday, November 14th as we open this exhibit, showcasing a unique North Carolina talent. Jason will be on hand to discuss his work, process and inspiration. Stop by and enjoy beer, wine and light snacks as you enjoy the various pieces in this collection.
