Voices from the Grave
- Haunted Tours of the Old Chapel Hill Cemetery
October 29th & 30th, 6 pm to 9 pm
You know about the star athletes and politicians hailing from Chapel Hill, but what you may not know is that some of this town's most interesting residents are right below your feet. Hear some of the fascinating stories behind the people from the past on a tour of Old Chapel Hill Cemetery. Voices from the Grave -- presented in conjunction with Deep Dish Theater -- will breathe life back into some of Chapel Hill's most notable figures.
You'll depart from the cemetery's gazebo and explore the final resting places of well-known North Carolinians like CBS news anchor Charles Kuralt, renowned portrait painter Mary Graves Rees, African American doctor Edwin Caldwell, World War I veteran John Allen, and more. After hearing the bevy of stories regarding our town's past, you may come to realize that dead men really do tell tales -- or at least, inspire them.
