Free and open to the public.
The Ackland Art Museum invites the public to "Meet the Artist" Thursday, 19 November, as it hosts a discussion and interview with renowned American artist Annette Lemieux.
In her decades-long year career, Lemieux (b. 1957) has worked with a wide range of media--from popular culture photographs to found books, paint, metals, etc.--exploring a variety of cultural constructs and resisting an easily identifiable "signature style."
She is a noted feminist conceptual artist whose work may be found in the permanent collections of art museums worldwide, including the Museum of Modern Art, New York; The Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York; Victoria & Albert Museum, London; Walker Art Center, Minneapolis; and Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, New York.
Lemieux will be interviewed by Cary Levine, Associate Professor, Department of Art, UNC-Chapel Hill.
