Preservation Chapel Hill will hold its 2015 Holiday House Tour - "Renovate, Celebrate - this Old House" - on Saturday, December 12th and Sunday, December 13th. This year's tour is based primarily in the historic Franklin-Rosemary neighborhood, and many of the homes features the renovation work of Diane Eckland, founder of Shade Tree Construction.
The Holiday House Tour has been an annual tradition in Chapel Hill for more than forty years. The tour is Preservation Chapel Hill's biggest fundraiser, with proceeds supporting preservation services, advocacy initiatives, and educational programming. In addition to being an important source of funding, the tour also raises awareness about the significance of Chapel Hill's historic neighborhoods and encourages their ongoing preservation by offering the general public a rare glimpse into these historic houses.
Homes will be open to tour from 1:00-5:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 12th and Sunday, December 13th. Advance tickets are $22 for members and $27 for the general public. Tickets purchased the weekend of the tour will be $27 for members and $32 for general public. House tour volunteers can purchase tickets for $16, and students with ID pay $11.
