Priceless Gems Tour
Friday, September 18 at 3 pm:  Archaeological Tour of Campus: An archaeological glimpse into remnants of UNC in the 19th century. Stephen Davis, associate director of UNC’s Research Laboratories of Archaeology, will discuss the University’s early days and its transformations. Davis and his colleagues have spent more than twenty years conducting excavations on Carolina’s campus. The tour will visit the Research Laboratories of Archaeology (RLA), the first center for the study of North Carolina archaeology and founded in 1939. Serving the interests of students, scholars, and the general public, RLA is currently one of the leading institutes for archaeological teaching and research in the South.
