Community Tree Lighting Ceremony with Santa & Mrs. Claus

Downtown Chapel Hill kicks off the holiday season with a Community Tree Lighting Ceremony in the Memorial Garden of University Baptist Church; 100 S. Columbia Street, on Sunday, December 2 at 6 p.m.. 

Enjoy caroling by the church choir.  Bring your camera too - children can meet Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus and have their pictures taken! Free and open to all. 

Public parking is free in downtown on Sundays. Visit www.parkonthehill.com for information and a map. 

This event may be cancelled in the event of inclement weather. We'll update our social media and website if that happens. For questions please call the Downtown Partnership at 919-967-9440.

Rodeo on Rosemary returns to Downtown Chapel Hill on Sunday, April 22nd from 12 P.M. to 4 P.M. This lively street celebration featuring a variety of area food trucks will again be on East Rosemary Street between Henderson and North Columbia Streets. 

For the first time, Rodeo on Rosemary trucks will be offering a tasting menu so that visitors can try many delights in one day!

Rodeo on Rosemary returns to Downtown Chapel Hill on Sunday, November 5th from 12 P.M. to 4 P.M. This lively street celebration will again be on East Rosemary Street between Henderson and North Columbia Streets. 

Bring the kids and enjoy the afternoon with giant games, a miniature golf course on The Plaza and a live DJ spinning your favorite tunes.

Rodeo on Rosemary will feature more than a dozen of the area's favorite trucks, including*:

  • Belgian Waffle Crafters
  • BO's kitchen
  • Captain Cookie and the Milk Man

The UNC Beat Making Lab joins Chapel Hill Sacrificial Poets and the Town of Chapel Hill Teen Center to push the limits of rhythm, art and life. Beat Making Lab teaches youths how to craft music from just about anything - no experience necessary, while Chapel Hill’s Sacrificial poets and the Teen center perform spoken word to elevate and cultivate the Chapel Hill community.
