Roy Williams To Sign New Autobiography!Roy Williams Hard Work

Coach Roy Williams will sign copies of his new autobiography at the Bull's Head Bookshop on campus.Williams' book "Hard Work: A Life On And Off the Court" went on sale on November 3rd. Beginning at 7:30 a.m. the Bull's Head will distribute 75 tickets to the event on a first-come, first-served basis. Tickets will be given only to those who buy the book then or show a receipt for it from the Bull's Head. Anyone presenting a ticket by 7 p.m. will be granted a space near the front of the line. Starting Thursday, November 5, the Ackland Art Museum will extend its public hours until 8:00 PM every Thursday, establishing regular weekly evening hours for the first time in the history of the Museum. To celebrate the start of this new schedule, Curator of Collections Timothy Riggs will offer a free gallery talk in the special exhibition The Guardian and the Avant-Garde on Thursday, November 5, starting at 6:30 PM. The public is welcome. 
                         
The Museum's open hours are now 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM on Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday; 10:00 AM - 8:00 PM Thursday (starting November 5, 2009); 1:00 - 5:00 PM Sunday; and 10:00 -9:00 PM on the second Friday of every month, when the museum hosts Art after Dark, part of the Chapel Hill/Carrboro 2ndFriday Artwalk. As always, admission to the Museum will remain free, with donations encouraged. UNC Student Body President Jasmin Jones spearheaded the effort to bring back a long forgotten tradition of students parading down Franklin Street before the annual Homecoming football game. This year the event is even more special as Carolina takes on perpetual arch-rivals - Duke! This year also marks the 50th anniversary of the famous Carolina football victory over Duke - 50 to 0!  The parade will showcase the UNC Marching band, cheerleaders, Rameses, student groups, Town & Gown officials, and much more!For details - click here!

Morehead Planetarium and Science Center hosts five amazing laser shows on Friday and Saturday nights this fall: Laser Classic Rock, 7 p.m.; Laser U2, 8 p.m.; Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon, 9 p.m.; Laser Zeppelin, 10 p.m.; Pink Floyd's The Wall, 11 p.m. Each show combines hit music with choreographed multicolor laser imagery for a sensory experience unlike any other! Tickets for each laser show experience are $9.50 per adult, $7.50 per student or Morehead member.
