Carolina Moon Cake at Sugarland!
It's football season, and that kicks off a brand new Carolina tradition at Sugarland, with the unveiling of the Carolina Moon Cake!
Each week, the Carolina Moon Cake will feature the opposition's team mascot displayed for a Carolina Moon Salute from the Carolina Ram in the front window. For the first opening game of the season, The Carolina Moon cake will assemble the entire ACC corps of mascots to receive Ramese's tribute to his conference pals, on his way to the Orange Bowl in Miami this season. Come take a look at the ever changing cake which will become Chapel Hill's latest tradition for game day.

Look Homeward Angel Illustrations on Display!

The Center for the Study of the American South will exhibit artist Douglas Gorsline's original drawings for the first illustrated edition (1947, Scribner's) of Thomas Wolfe's novel, "Look Homeward, Angel". Featuring sixteen Cuban cinema posters recently given to the Ackland by eminent art historian, collector, and Carolina alumnus David Craven, Almost Now examines the central role that artists, filmmakers, and film audiences have played in Cuban cultural and political discourse since the Cuban Revolution in 1959.
