Haiti Fundraiser Success! 
On Tuesday, January 26 
Mediterranean Deli sponsored a Haiti Relief Fundraiser and featured a special menu all day at the restaurant. Hungry patrons definitely showed up and helped the restaurant raise $16,156.36...all donated to the Red Cross for the relief efforts in Haiti!  Thank you to all that come out and to everyone at the Mediterranean Deli!

Nightlight Club kicks off this crazy fundraiser - Mustaches for Kids - with the official Shaving Day! Everyone is invited to grow the coolest mustache you can and ALSO support a school project proposed on the charity website-Donors Choose! Competitors will grow mustaches over the course of four weeks and raise money for the project. Bamuthi performs a call-and-response with turntablist DJ Excess and beatboxer/percussionist Tommy Shepherd (aka Soulati), with video projections by filmmaker Eli Jacobs Fantauzzi composed of interviews and documentary footage of hip-hop culture throughout the world. To celebrate their 15th Anniversary in Chapel Hill, the Carolina Brewery will be doing a special promotion each month. In January, it's Kids Eat Free each weeknight! Art from the Heart to Benefit Museums!
More than 100 original pieces of artwork are on display through February 4, 2010 at the CHAPEL HILL MUSEUM and Kidzu Children's Museum. Local celebrated personalities, heroes and established artists have painted canvases to be auctioned in support of the exceptional educational experiences at the CHAPEL HILL MUSEUM and Kidzu Children's Museum. Participants include everyone from UNC coaches to Triangle chefs, from town officials to musicians, from notable artists to authors. A multimedia artistic collaboration, "Ice Counterpoint" views the Earth's polar regions through the artistic collaboration of music, art, environmental soundscapes and photography. The photography, recordings, and video of Antarctica and the High Arctic, taken in 2006 and 2009 by Brooks de Wetter-Smith (photo at right), are presented along with the polar art of Nerys Levy.
