LUNAFEST at Varsity Theater

Family Violence Prevention Center (FVPC) hosts LUNAFEST, a festival of short films created by, for, and about women. LUNAFEST is sponsored by LUNA, the Whole Nutrition Bar for Women, to simultaneously promote women filmmakers, raise awareness for women's issues and support nonprofit organizations throughout the U.S. and Canada. The proceeds of LUNAFEST will benefit FVPC with a portion of the proceeds benefiting The Breast Cancer Fund. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students. They are available at FVPC's office at 201 E. Rosemary Street.  Tickets are limited cash or check only please. Back Alley Bikes; Offering Repairs & Sales
Back Alley Bikes is a service based bicycle shop that mainly repairs broken bikes but also fixes up old bikes for sale and occasionally sells new ones. Back Alley Bikes is a fair-profit organization. Their goal is to make enough profit to subsist, but keep prices low and work a little harder so that people will fix their bikes and ride them! Free Trolley Service for 2nd Friday ArtWalk

Twenty-five local businesses will participate in the 2nd Friday ArtWalk this month, many of them with live music and other art related entertainment. The Visitors Bureau will be offering a THREE FREE trolleys with stop & go service, so ArtWalk enthusiasts can hop on and off the trolleys at various stops. Trolley service begins at the  ArtsCenter on E. Main Street in Carrboro and University Mall on Estes Drive.
