New Public Parking Lot Open Downtown!
The Town of Chapel Hill completed work on the West Rosemary Parking Lot at 104 W. Rosemary Street! The lot is located between Syd's Hair Shop and the IFC Community House. The lot offers metered parking for 17 vehicles. The meters accept quarters and dimes, with 15 minutes per quarter and 6 minutes per dime. There is a four-hour time limit. Terence Blanchard Performance at Memorial Hall
Terence BlanchardGrammy Award-winning trumpeter Terence Blanchard, one of the most gifted trumpeter/composers of the day will be performing at Memorial Hall on Friday, February 26 at 8:00 PM. As well as leading a string of high profile bands of his own, Blanchard enjoys a successful career as a film composer, with soundtracks including Spike Lee's Malcolm X, Summer of Sam, and Do the Right Thing. Jazz Performances at West End Wine Bar
The West End Wine Bar will be hosting special jazz performances this weekend during the 33rd Carolina Jazz Festival. Friday, February 26 & Saturday, February 27 will feature sessions with both festival performers and local musicians. Admission is $4 for these events, which start at 10:30 p.m.
Sunday, March 7 marks the kick off of the bar's new Sunday Evening Jazz Series. Admission is $4, and music starts at 7:30 p.m. This night will feature the Al Neese Jazz Project, a six-member band featuring bop and hard bop trumpet player Al Neese. The Women's Center is hosting its annual cocktail reception, art exhibition, and sale on Friday, March 5 at the Women's Center located at 210 Henderson Street. PlayMakers Announces 2010/ 2011 Season
Playmakers 2010-2011 SeasonPlayMakers will present its first musical in more than a decade next season with "Big River", a multiple Tony Award-winner, based on Mark Twain's Huckleberry Finn. PlayMakers also will present its first staging of an August Wilson play, "Fences"; as well as William Shakespeare's "As You Like It"; "Shipwrecked! An Entertainment" by Donald Margulies; and Tony Kushner's groundbreaking "Angels in America, Parts 1 and 2," presented in rotating repertory.
PlayMakers also will present three thought-provoking shows in its second-stage season, the PRC2 series. The series will begin with "Happy Days" by Nobel Prize winner Samuel Beckett and conclude with literary lion Joan Didion's "The Year of Magical Thinking." Each PRC 2 performance includes engaging post-show dialogue between the artists and the audience, the hallmark of the series.

Downtown visitors enjoying other establishments can also use the valet service for a $5.00 charge. Drop cars off at the Valet Parking stand located in front of the UNC Information Technology building (440 West Franklin Street), near the West End Wine Bar.
