Ackland Art-ventues for Kids

Ackland Art-ventures for Kids is a series of engaging classes for 6-9 year olds taught by National Board Certified Art Teacher Tamela Davis and other educators. On Saturday, January 22 from 10:30AM to 12:00PM children will compare and contrast positive and negative spaces in paintings of outdoor scenes, paying special attention to winter scenes. In the studio, they will create mobiles that imitate the positive and negative space in snowflakes. $15 for members, $25 non-members. Voices of the Baroque Concert

Two of the region's best-loved singers are featured in this program of music by Handel, Telemann, and Bach on Sunday, January 23 at 3PM at Horace Williams House with a reception to follow.  Cantatas with one obbligato instrument and basso continuo and baroque instrumental works will be performed. Science Alive at Kidzu Children's Museum  Kidzu - Children Playing

Join Kidzu on Wednesday, January 26 from 3:30PM to 4:30PM for this drop-in program based on hands-on science education! During the January program kids will learn how animals spend their winter, which animals are suited for cold climates, and what they eat, and more.
