This has been on my list for a while, to eat at and write about Trilussa on Franklin Street. Trilussa is a small unassuming Italian restaurant on West Franklin with a small dining room and minimal staff. My fiance and I had been talking about visiting for a while so we made plans and made the six minute walk over. (living downtown rules)
We walked in and were greeting warmly by a friendly waitress (most likely a UNC undergrad) who seated us at a small table with a small vase of flowers. The lights were low mostly provided by what seemed like a hundred small lights hidden around the room which was decoraded with kitchy little italian artifacts and faux awnings. It's a cozy space for sure.
Our dinner of pasta, shrimp, and wine was great!
If you haven't been, you should give it a try soon!
