FREE Saturday Parking 
Parking is always FREE on Sundays in downtown Chapel Hill, but this holiday season parking will be FREE on Saturdays as well! The Town of Chapel Hill will be offering downtown patrons and visitors FREE parking on Saturdays in December (3, 10, 17, & 24) at all municipal lots, the Wallace Parking Deck, and at on-street meters. At 5PM on Saturdays, the Wallace Deck and Rosemary/Columbia Lot will begin charging at their normal rate.

West End Open House

OSaturday, December 3 at 7:30PM the Franklin Hotel will unveil a Christmas art installation in the picture windows that face onto Franklin Street. The hotel has commissioned the creation of a beautiful, one of kind 3D holiday scene by local agency Sprocket House for the entire community to enjoy. Be a guest in Robert's Lounge and enjoy tasty appetizers and holiday libations, then experience the unveiling on the red carpet. Free and open to all. Book Fairy Book Drive
For the third year, UNC's libraries have partnered to collect children's books for the Book Fairy, an organization that donates books to the Pediatric Oncology Clinic at UNC Hospital. Last year over 2000 books were donated! The drive runs until Thursday, December 8. All new or gently used books for ages 1 to 15 are welcome. Drop off points throughout campus. Free Yoga to Honor World AIDS Day
On World AIDS Day, TODAY-Thursday, December 1st - Franklin Street Yoga is encouraging you to roll out your mat and dedicate your mind, body and spirit to the fight against HIV. They will be offering free classes all day and encourage participants to donate to the North Carolina AIDS Action Network (NCAAN) in lieu of class fees. Visit

Clef Hangers & Loreleis Holiday Concert
Morehead Planetarium kicks-off their Holiday Stars Concert Series, on Friday, December 2 at 7:30PM with performances by The Clef Hangers (men) and Loreleis (women)- the original a cappella student performance groups at UNC. Nutcracker by The Carolina Ballet
