Chapel Hill - Carrboro Holiday Parade - 12/10/11

The Chapel Hill -Carrboro Holiday Parade, presented by The Jaycees, will be held on Saturday, December 10, 2011 from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm. The parade starts at the Morehead Planetarium and winds the entire length of Franklin Street to Carrboro Town Hall.

This is easily the holiday event that draws the largest crowd in both towns every year. This parade is well-known for the fun and family-friendly atmosphere it creates downtown – perfect to set you in the mood to get going on your holiday shopping! I’m pretty sure every single school, scout troop, and agency that works with animals participates – and they ALL give out candy.

My favorite part of the parade are the legions of little kids dressed as wrapped holiday gifts. The picture here could be from 1989, 1999, or 2009 – timeless and fantastic! And don’t ask because I’m not telling when it was taken.

Applications for parade participants are still being accepted  until November 27. It’s great exposure for your nonprofit or business. For more information visit www.chapelhilljaycees.org.
