 CRASH THE PARTY

Crash the Party

The unique "Crash the Party" Contest is back!  This allows runners who may be affiliated with other (than UNC) ACC schools to represent their colors with custom race bibs!  Last year the Duke Blue Devils won the digital PARTY CRASHER CUP.  This is a great way to make a statement in Carolina Blue Country and adds to the collegiate spirit of the race.

RACE WITHOUT A TRACE

Endurance Magazine is committed to improving the environment and reversing the negative impacts on climate change.  The "Race Without A Trace" initiative serves as a basis for all events to empower and enable communities to embrace positive change in attitudes toward environmental sustainability. Event production plans include an evaluation of every aspect to identify where waste and carbon impact can be minimized.

Here's your chance to help thousands of runners reach their goal of successfully crossing the finish line at the Wachovia Tar Heel 10 Miler & Fleet Feet 4 + Mile Run- which takes place on UNC's campus and downtown Chapel Hill . Volunteers are THE most important factor in truly making this North Carolina's Premier Running Experience!

Sign up today to support the Chapel Hill community, Lineberger Cancer Center, and the YMCA of Chapel Hill-Carrboro.  Be sure to invite family members, friends and co-workers to join you; volunteering is ALWAYS more fun when you are able to do it with people you know!

Volunteering is a great way to promote a group, company, or organization. You could be featured on the event website. Contact Elisabeth Galperin at 919.923.5076 to learn more about it!

Sign-up is easy: go to www.tarheel10miler.com, and look for the VOLUNTEER link at the top of the home page.  Choose your preferred volunteer position (especially needed are course monitors, which is the most fun position) and follow the directions.

ALL volunteers are kindly asked to attend the pre-race volunteer training and thank-you party on the evening of Wednesday, April 6th (6:00 pm-7:30 pm) to learn about emergency contingencies, race schedule & safety issues. This is also our chance to thank you for your amazing support of this event. Each volunteer will get an awesome  gift bag full of goodies, and tasty food and beverages will be served!

SIGN UP NOW! The first 75 volunteers to register will get a FREE race entry for the 2012 event.
