On Thursday, June 9  at 7PM The Crunkleton and Flyleaf Books join to celebrate the release of Charlie Thompson's book, The Spirits of Just Men. Inspired by his own family's history in Franklin County, Virginia, the book captures the story of the moonshine business in the 1930's and the famous conspiracy trial of 1935. In his feature-length documentary, humorist and New Orleans resident Harry Shearer gets the inside story of the Katrina Hurricane disaster that could have been prevented. Shearer speaks to the tireless investigators and experts who poked through the muck as the water receded, and uncovers a courageous whistle-blower from the Army Corps of Engineers. Join author Mur Lafferty as she launches her much anticipated Afterlife series on Saturday, June 11 from 5PM to 7PM. The five book series: Heaven, Hell, Earth, Wasteland, and War, started (and are still available) as totally free audio books at After launching a successful Kickstarter project she printed her books in hardcover in extremely limited quantities, and they will not be reprinted in hardcover format. Support Kidzu Children's Museum at Panera
Panera Bread has partnered with Kidzu to raise funds for downtown Chapel Hill's own children's museum. Kicking off this partnership, Panera recently served as the food sponsor for a Kidzu workshop.  Customers can contribute by dropping change in the new Kidzu donation canisters, located by the registers at Panera's 213 West Franklin Street location.
