NEW BUSINESS OPEN: The Thrill at Hector's The Thrill at Hector's

The rumors are true...Hector's is BACK! Those late night cravings for a Greek grilled cheese can now be fulfilled as The Thrill opens TODAY at 9PM located at 157 East Rosemary Street. Chapel Hill's newest bar and grill will be serving all the famous Hector's menu items that have filled the bellies of UNC students since 1969 (give or take a few years off!). Do You Bake the Most Luscious Cupcake?  

Put it to the test by entering the Preservation Society of Chapel Hill's Cupcake Challenge. Local celebrity judges will decide who goes home with a gift and bragging rights.  Deadline for registering is Wednesday, August 24 at 4PM, no exceptions.  The Festival and judging is Friday August 26 at 6PM at the Horace Williams Memorial Cupcake Festival at the Horace Williams House.

Music in the Galleries at Ackland: Folk by Four Folk by Four
Spend the afternoon at the Ackland on Sunday, August 21 from 2PM to 3PM with Carrboro's Folk by Four. Their blend of gospel, folk, and bluegrass will be the perfect ending to Ackland's summer series of Music in the Galleries concerts. Reservations and tickets are NOT REQUIRED, but please arrive early to find a spot. Free.

'The Serpent's Egg' Performance - Don't Miss It!Paperhand Puppet

Paperhand Puppet Intervention brings it's 12th annual summer show to the Forest Theater now running through September 5. The show features new masks, giant puppets, stilts, painted cardboard, and shadows all brought to life by the award winning Paperhand band. The show explores the unending cyclical nature of the universe through the lens of our humanity as well as retelling some old stories with a Paperhand twist.
