Tar Heel Express will be running FREE shuttles to the ceremony from 7:15AM to 12:30PM, running every 10 to 15mns. Exhibit at Ackland Museum Store
For the 2nd Friday ArtWalk on Friday, May 11 at 7PM the Ackland Museum Store hosts an artist talk for the exhibit: Perspectives in Mentoring: the paintings of Anthony Ulinski and Deneé Black in the gallery. Anthony Ulinski is an accomplished oil painter who has taught extensively at Penland among other well-respected schools. Deneé Black, a talented mixed media painter, has taken classes with Anthony and has been mentored by him for several years. The show features not only the cityscapes of both artists, but reflects the evolving nature of a mentoring relationship.

Amanda Hughes, director of external affairs at Ackland Art Museum, will lead participants in a creative exploration of drawings by Thornton Dial as they sketch their own works on paper on Saturday, May 12 from 10AM to noon.
