Exhibit Opening at Ackland Store
Earthly Delights will open with a special reception TONIGHT - Thursday, June 14 from 6:30PM-8:30PM, and will continue through August 4. The reception will feature live music by local harper Kelsey Bennett. Earthly Delights explores the beauty and importance of craft through the work of potter Joseph Sand and textile artist Sondra Dorn. Sand and Dorn both exhibit a deep devotion to the natural world in

Pools OPEN - Come On In!
The A. D. Clark Pool at the Hargraves Community Center, 216 N. Roberson St., is open for the 2012 summer season. The free outdoor swimming pool, operated by the Town of Chapel Hill Parks and Recreation Department, is available for lap swimming and open swim time now through Labor Day. The 25 meter pool offers a zero-depth entry pool, locker rooms, showers and family changing area. There is a wading pool for pre-school aged children and toddlers (swim diapers required). Visit
Summer Yoga Challenge!
On Monday, June 18 Franklin Street Yoga Center kicks of the 30 classes in 40 days challenge - If you complete this challenge, your name is entered into a drawing for a six month unlimited yoga pass and three month unlimited yoga pass. Music in the Galleries at Ackland
Every third Sunday of the month, enjoy music in the Ackland galleries. A wide variety of performers can be heard, from classical quartets to bluegrass, to enhance your Museum experience.This Sunday, June 17 at 2PM, Tea Cup Gin plays jazz and show tunes from the early 20th century, drawing inspiration from performers such as Jelly Roll Morton, Fats Waller, Hoagy Carmichael, W.C.
