Old Timey 4th of July 
Join the Chapel Hill Preservation Society on Wednesday, July 4 from 1PM to 3PM on the lawn of the Horace Williams House (602 East Rosemary Street) for lemonade, music from the Village Band, and a visit from Uncle Sam! On Sunday, July 8 experience The Fact and Folklore of Franklin Street during a 90 minute walking tour with the Preservation Society. The Tour departs from the Horace Williams House (2nd Sunday of each month) and travels down Franklin Street to Hillsborough Street and back again. $5 suggested donation. On Wednesday July 11 at 9AM Kidzu Children's Museum invites you to this interactive program designed for adults with children between 4-24 months with a focus on Movement and Music. Tie Dye Workshop

Join Kidzu Children's Museum for a Patriotic Tie Dye Workshop on 

Tuesday, July 3, 3:30-4:30PM. This hands-on program will allow kids to create their own stunning July 4th t-shirt. They'll supply the shirt and all the materials. For more than a decade the 4th of July has meant fireworks, Uncle Sam, and Evil Wiener at The Cave's  Annual Evil Wiener Wienie Roast and Potluck! Pools OPEN - Come On In!
The A. D. Clark Pool at the Hargraves Community Center, 216 N. Roberson St., is open for the 2012 summer season. The free outdoor swimming pool, operated by the Town of Chapel Hill Parks and Recreation Department, is available for lap swimming and open swim time now through Labor Day. The 25 meter pool offers a zero-depth entry pool, locker rooms, showers and family changing area. There is a wading pool for pre-school aged children and toddlers (swim diapers required). DIY Rugmaking Workshop
What to do with those old jeans you just can't bear to part with? Make a braided rag rug with them! Renee Miller, fiber artist, will teach you how to make a hardy braided rag rug with them at a DIY workshop at Vimala's Curryblossom Cafe on Sunday, July 8 at 2PM.
