Downtown Merchants: County Launches Single Stream Recycling

Orange County Solid Waste Management Launches Single Stream Recycling
Single Stream Recycling in Orange County

Single stream recycling has started  in Orange County! This means all downtown businesses that use the County's recycling program can combine all cans, bottles and paper in the SAME blue roll cart. Businesses can also put cups, tubs & buckets that will fit into the cart along with the paper.  Still keep the cardboard separate.

This will not only make it easier for you and your staff; it will make the collections program more efficient and reduce the amount of carts needed in our downtown.

In the next few weeks, Orange County recycling staff will replace all the labels on the blue roll carts and will be sending out letters to all the downtown businesses with complete details.

July 1, 2012 marks exactly one year until the landfill in Orange County closes. Now more than ever we need to increase our recycling and lower the amount of trash we will have to truck out of the county. Let's recycle more, and make less trash!
