The North Carolina Comedy Arts Festival produced by the DSI Comedy Theater in Carrboro is the largest comedy festival in the southern U.S. and features sketch comedy, standup and improv. The 13th annual festival is Jan 30-Feb 17 and features acts from all over North America performing in Chapel Hill, Carrboro and Durham venues. Ticket prices and show times vary. Standup is Jan 30-Feb 5, Sketch is Feb 7-10 and Improv is Feb 12-17. Visit 
What's for Dinner Tonight?

Preservation Happy Hour
Exhibition opening reception on Sunday, February 3 from 2PM to 4PM: on exhibit from Februray 3-24 photography of Janet Oldham and stoneware and raku clay from Emily Jo Lees. On Wednesday, February 6 at 4:30 join Executive Director Cheri Szcodronski and members of the Board of Directors at R&R Grill to talk about preservation issues in Chapel Hill in an informal setting. Rubbish 2 Runway Show
Call for Submissions: Join FRANK Gallery for Rubbish 2 Runway - a juried show featuring dresses made entirely from recycled materials. Single or group entries are accepted. Cash prizes. The show will be on exhibit from May 7-July7. Deadline for commitment is February 6.

Winter Show at Planetarium
"The Longest Night: A Winter's Tale" is a one-of-a-kind fulldome planetarium show that captures its audience with a timeless fable of courage, generosity and renewal. Its story explores the concept that winter is a time for Earth to rest, waiting for new growth in the spring. Morehead collaborated with Paperhand Puppet Intervention to develop the story and visuals of "The Longest Night." Show runs until February 24. Show times are Saturdays at 11:30 a.m. and Sundays at 2:30 p.m.

The Ackland Art Museum presents the first More Love Exhibit Acklandmajor exhibition to investigate the ways in which contemporary artists have addressed love: as a political force, as a philosophical model for equitable knowledge exchange, and as social interaction within a rapidly changing landscape of technology and social media.Opening receptionTODAY - Thursday, January 31 from 6PM to 8PM. Organized by consulting curator Claire Schneider, "More Love" includes 48 works of art by 33 emerging and established contemporary artists for whom love is a significant tool or strategy that constitutes a creative practice built on generosity, inclusiveness, sharing, and questioning. Celebrate the opening of this new exhibition with food, drinks, music, and art.

The Triangle's oldest brewery turns eighteen in February! This evening event for adults ages 21 and up combines the artistry and fun of the circus with amazing science demonstrations! Cirque des Sciences also features fine food and drinks from some of the areas's most popular dining establishments and a silent auction, followed by dessert and dancing under the stars of the GlaxoSmithKline Fulldome Theater. Proceeds from the event support programs which provide high-quality science education experiences to nearly 170,000 guests each year, including more than 75,000 K-12 students.
