FREE Holiday Parking   
Parking is FREE on weekends in downtown Chapel Hill this holiday season! Parking at on-street meters and off-street lots is free on Saturdays and Sundays through the end of December. These lots are free until 5pm on the same Saturdays: Wallace Parking Deck located at 150 E. Rosemary St., 140 West Lot, and at the Rosemary /Columbia Lot at 100 E. Moravian Love Feast 
Sunday, December 15, 7 pm: University United Methodist Church (150 E. Franklin Street, Chapel Hill) will hold its 40th annual Love Feast in the Moravian tradition and all are welcome. The UUMC Chancel Choir, Covenant Handbells and UUMC Concert Band will lead the music for this beautiful celebration of the season featuring traditional Christmas carols and Moravian hymns, beeswax candles and sweet Moravian coffee and buns. Gingerbread House Workshop at Kidzu

Saturday, December 21, 1pm or 3pm: Experience the fun of decorating a gingerbread house at Kidzu Children's Museum. Each child will receive an undecorated gingerbread house with frosting and lots of decorations. Cost is $20 per house (2 children can share a house), ages 4-9 years. Drop off is welcome for this program. Space is limited and registration is required.

Open Sing of Handel's Messiah

Saturday, December 14, 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm: The Wesley Foundation hosts the 48th annual open sing of Handel's Messiah; with an orchestra and soloists from the community and university at the Newman Center on campus. The guest conductor this year is Nathan Leaf, Director of Choral Activities at North Carolina State University. The event is free and open to all. Downtown Holiday Parade
Chapel Hill/Carrboro Holiday Parade
The Chapel Hill-Carrboro Holiday Parade, presented by The Jaycees, will be held on Saturday, December 14 from 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. The parade starts at the Morehead Planetarium and runs the entire length of Franklin Street to Carrboro Town Hall. Stake out your curbside spot and enjoy a great community tradition!  

Horse Drawn Carriage Rides

December 14, 21, 22; 12:00 PM - 4 PM: Nothing says Christmas like sound of bells on a horse drawn carriage. Enjoy the sites of Chapel Hill as you take a leisurely ride through the campus of UNC.
