FREE Holiday Parking   
Parking is FREE on weekends in downtown Chapel Hill this holiday season! Parking at on-street meters and off-street lots is free on Saturdays and Sundays through the end of December. These lots are free until 5pm on the same Saturdays: Wallace Parking Deck located at 150 E. Rosemary St., 140 West Lot, and at the Rosemary /Columbia Lot at 100 E. Rosemary St.  
Moravian Love Feast 
Sunday, December 15, 7 pm: University United Methodist Church (150 E. Franklin Street, Chapel Hill) will hold its 40th annual Love Feast in the Moravian tradition and all are welcome. The UUMC Chancel Choir, Covenant Handbells and UUMC Concert Band will lead the music for this beautiful celebration of the season featuring traditional Christmas carols and Moravian hymns, beeswax candles and sweet Moravian coffee and buns. Childcare will be provided for children up to 5 years of age. 
Afternoon Tea at La Res
Every Sunday until December 22: Afternoon Tea features award winning Sticky Toffee Pudding with Clotted Cream a well as English favorites, tasty finger sandwiches with Scones and Jam and, more of their handmade fresh clotted cream. Prices start at $13.00 for the Cream Tea and $22 for the full Afternoon Tea. Call La Residence at 919-697-2506 for reservations!

Holiday House Tour

Explore the beautiful Laurel Hill neighborhood on the annual Holiday House Tour,  December 14 from 12 pm to 4 pm; and December 15 from 1 pm to 5 pm. Advance tickets are $30, $25 for members of Preservation Chapel Hill. 

Gingerbread House Workshop at Kidzu

Saturday, December 21, 1pm or 3pm: Experience the fun of decorating a gingerbread house at Kidzu Children's Museum. Each child will receive an undecorated gingerbread house with frosting and lots of decorations. Cost is $20 per house (2 children can share a house), ages 4-9 years. Drop off is welcome for this program. Space is limited and registration is required. or call 919-933-1455.

Celebrate a family New Year's Eve on Tuesday, December 31 from 4 pm to 6 pm at Morehead Planetarium & Science Center. Family-friendly activities, performances, and a kids' countdown under the stars to ring in the new year! Free and open to all!  

Shop Local Art on the ArtWalk!
The 2nd Friday ArtWalk is Friday, December 13 from 6 pm to 9 pm with 15 venues participating this month with live music, food & drinks, and other art related  entertainment. Venues are featuring art products perfect for gift-giving this holiday season. Even the hardest to shop for on your list will love a hand-made, artistic item! Shop local art like unique jewelry, scarves, handmade paper goods, ceramics, fine art, and more. 
Open Sing of Handel's Messiah

Saturday, December 14, 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm: The Wesley Foundation hosts the 48th annual open sing of Handel's Messiah; with an orchestra and soloists from the community and university at the Newman Center on campus. The guest conductor this year is Nathan Leaf, Director of Choral Activities at North Carolina State University. The event is free and open to all. Downtown Holiday Parade
Chapel Hill/Carrboro Holiday Parade
The Chapel Hill-Carrboro Holiday Parade, presented by The Jaycees, will be held on Saturday, December 14 from 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. The parade starts at the Morehead Planetarium and runs the entire length of Franklin Street to Carrboro Town Hall. Stake out your curbside spot and enjoy a great community tradition!  

Horse Drawn Carriage Rides

December 14, 21, 22; 12:00 PM - 4 PM: Nothing says Christmas like sound of bells on a horse drawn carriage. Enjoy the sites of Chapel Hill as you take a leisurely ride through the campus of UNC. Hot chocolate and sweets provided. Tours leave from Carolina Inn main entrance. Reservations Required.  $10 Per Person.  

Downtown Holiday Blood Drive

Approximately 60% of our population is eligible to donate blood, and only 5% actually donate! On Monday, December 16 from 10 am to 2 pm Investors Title Company is holding it's bi-annual blood drive downtown. Sign up TODAY - and show your commitment to your community. Located at 121 N.
