FREE Holiday Parking   
Parking is FREE on weekends in downtown Chapel Hill this holiday season! Parking at on-street meters and off-street lots is free on Saturdays and Sundays through the end of December. These lots are free until 5pm on the same Saturdays: Wallace Parking Deck located at 150 E. Rosemary St., 140 West Lot, and at the Rosemary /Columbia Lot at 100 E. Rosemary St.

Afternoon Tea at La Res
Sunday, December 22: Afternoon Tea features award winning Sticky Toffee Pudding with Clotted Cream a well as English favorites, tasty finger sandwiches with Scones and Jam and, more of their handmade fresh clotted cream. Crafts for a Cause 

Saturdays in December, 10:00am-5:00pm: Every Saturday in December kids can create crafts
in the Art Room to donate to community groups such as the Ronald McDonald House, UNC HOPE Gardens, and the Orange County Animal Services Center. Help share the joy of the season!
Crafts are included with regular admission.

Gingerbread House Workshop at Kidzu

Saturday, December 21, 1pm or 3pm: Experience the fun of decorating a gingerbread house at Kidzu Children's Museum. Each child will receive an undecorated gingerbread house with frosting and lots of decorations.  Registration is required. 
Don't Go Stir Crazy!
With family in town and the kids out of school for the holiday, don't go stir-crazy inside! The Ackland Art Museum is open Dec 26, 27, & 28 starting at 10am. The current stunning exhibit is The Sahmat Collective: Art and Activism in India since 1989. Kidzu Children's Museum is open regular hours until Sunday, December 29. And Morehead Planetarium and Science Center is closed Dec 24 & 25 but open the rest of the holiday break!

Children's Christmas Pageant

Every other year, the children of University United Methodist Church present a special telling of the Christmas story. The community is invited to this fun-filled event, followed by a short reception on Sunday, December 22, at 6:30 p.m. in the church's sanctuary. Children will also lead the congregation in the singing of Christmas carols throughout the pageant. For more information or for a full listing of Advent and Christmas activities and services, visit
