Love Under the Stars!
It's the most unique Valentine's tradition you'll ever experience- the special star show "Carolina Skies: Valentine Edition" explores the legends of love told by ancient cultures through constellations. Shows on Thursday, February 14 at 7:30PM and 9PM. Tickets available at the door, beginning 30 minutes before showtime: $7.25/adult, $6/student or senior. This program is recommended only for ages 18 and older.

Charity Event for Jared
On Sunday, February 17 from 3PM to 6PM The Standard, Beer Study, and Jesse's Coffee & Bar all join efforts to raise money to help Jesse's employee Jared Fruth with medical bills after surviving a motorcycle accident recently. There will be two breweries at each business waiting for you to come sample their wares in unlimited quantities...for $15 a ticket! Breweries involved are Haw River, Steel String, Fortnight, Olde Hickory, Mystery, and Lagunitas. 
NOW OPEN: Korchipi  Korchipi Chicken & Pizza
Korchipi Korean Chicken & Pizza, a Korean fusion restaurant and pizzeria has opened at 163 East Franklin Street. Menu items feature bulgogi (beef or spicy chicken), salads, pizza, Gangnam-style chicken served either sweet and mild, or hot and spicy with shredded cabbage and diced radish, and So-Ga wings that are made with a soy and garlic sauce. Specialties include Korchipi Korean Boxes that can come with either thinly sliced grilled beef, chicken, or chicken teriyaki, as well as a salad, dumplings, vegetables, and rice rolls; and Korchipi hot bowls served with chicken, shrimp or beef. And there is a Karaoke room in the back that is available to rent! It costs $35.00 dollars to rent for hour for seven people and under.

Recyclery Open Workshop
The ReCYCLery holds an open workshop every Sunday from 9AM until noon. An informal session with bike mechanics who will aid you in repairing your own bicycle.  All are welcome to bring their bike or work towards earning one of their own.

Community Love Jukebox, Vol. 1
Bring vinyl records, cassette tapes, CDs, iPhones, and/or iPods with recordings of the love songs you love to Ackland Art Museum on Sunday, February 17 at 2PM. You'll work with your fellow music- lovers and WXYC DJs to create a great "love mix." The playlist will be compiled and made available on the Ackland website, and selected songs and stories will also be woven together to create a Thursday Night Feature program on WXYC (89.3 FM). Free and open to the public.

36th Carolina Jazz Festival

Celebrate the mystique, music, food, and fun of Carnevale in Venice to support the cats and kittens of the Goathouse Refuge on Saturday, February 16, from 2:30 to 5:00 p.m. at the Varsity Theatre.
