Learn more about what the Downtown Partnership has accomplished this year and what we'll be focusing on in our 2013-2015 Work Plan. Anyone with a love for or interest in the future of downtown Chapel Hill are invited to all of our events.
   
Downtown Development News- Join us in supporting these developments that will bring more residents to downtown; helping us achieve our goal of fostering a vibrant, diverse, pedestrian-friendly, and accessible downtown. 
  • 123 West Franklin Street (University Square) goes before Town Council on Monday, February 11 - Come to Town Council and speak in support!
  • Bicycle Apartments goes before Town Council on Wednesday, February 27- Come to Town Council and speak in support!
  • 140 West Franklin  will be open this spring transforming the connection between east and west Franklin Street into a dynamic, cultural space!
  • Shortbread Lofts construction has begun on West Rosemary Street.

Downtown Social Hour & Dream Up Downtown walks -
This year brings quarterly social & networking events with the Downtown Partnership, hosted in a variety of venues. And after the great success of the four fall Dream Up Downtown walks, we will be hosting more in the spring and summer.  Based on the principles of urban activist Jane Jacobs, we 
take a walk through downtown exploring the possibilities  of great urban planning.   
 
Windows on Chapel Hill - Downtown storefronts come alive with art and performances thanks to funding from the Town of Chapel Hill's Cultural Arts office. Three new installations will be up in March! Read more here... 
 
Look Before You Lease! - We've partnered with the Town of Chapel Hill's Fire & Inspections departments to offer this new proactive and business-friendly approach to opening a new business downtown. Read more here...
 
Real Change Marketing Campaign -  We're working with the Orange County Partnership to End Homelessness and a Public Relations class at the UNC School of Journalism to develop a marketing campaign to educate the community about panhandling.We welcome downtown businesses and property owners to be a part of this meaningful campaign.  
 
Perka - Say goodbye to punch cards!  Six downtown businesses are participating in a free trial program sponsored by the Downtown Partnership. Perka is a  free mobile app available at the Apple & Android markets, that offers a simple,  flexible model for businesses to offer discounts to their best customers.
