Punk Rock Karaoke Benefit 
TODAY - Thursday, June 6 at 9PM Chapel Hill Underground is the local stop for the summer tour of Punk Rock Karaoke. The event benefits Adoption Option Animal Rescue; saving animals who have been abandoned in the shelter system. So stop by, scream your hearts out to some punk songs, and help raise money for animal rescue! $5
- $10 suggested donation.

Science Cafe at Back Bar

What does water have to do with generating high-energy fuels? Scientists are researching ways to use sunlight to generate fuels from low-energy chemicals, including H2O. Learn more at Carolina Science Cafe TODAY -Thursday, June 6, at 6PM,
featuring guest speaker Dr. Kenneth Hanson. This free event includes a presentation and a Q&A session (plus free appetizers provided by Sigma Xi, while they last!). Sponsored by Morehead Planetarium.  / 

ReCYCLEry is a non-profit located at 108 Graham Street, that teaches bicycle repair and maintenance and allows community members to earn their own bikes. 
Every Sunday from 9AM to noon bring your bike to the shop and learn the basics of bicycle mechanics. Mechanics will not repair your bike for you, but will aid you in repairing your own bicycle. Workshop participants must sign in and are taken on a first come, first served basis. The entire community is welcome to bring their bike or work towards earning one of their own. 
Think You Know Franklin Street?
Think again! Rediscover the beautiful historic neighborhoods of downtown on a walking tour exploring its facts and its folklore. The tour begins at the Horace Williams House at 610 East Rosemary Street on Sunday, June 9 at 2PM. Tickets are $5 per person or free with membership voucher.   
Bub O'Malley's: An Institution

Bicycle Chain Group Trail Ride
Whether this is your first Mountain Bike ride, or you want to increase your single track skills, come join the Chapel Hill Bicycle Chain group ride every Sunday at 5PM. Meet at the store, at 210 W. Franklin Street, do a quick tire check and then ride the Carolina North Forest trails for about an hour and a half. This will be a no drop ride, but the terrain does require a shop quality mountain bike.  

Kidzu Children's Museum is temporarily moving to University Mall while they plan for their future on Wallace Plaza. Kidzu will be open at it's current location at University Square Mall until September!

Cooking Class at Vimala's 
Vimala offers almost monthly cooking classes on various aspects of Indian cuisine. Retirement Planning Workshop 
It's never too early (or too late!) to plan for retirement! Whether you are 1 year, 10 years, 30 years or more away from retirement, the planning you do now could be your life's most important financial planning. Compass Center is offering a workshop on Thursday, June 13 at 6PM to provide you tools to predict how much income you will need in retirement and how much you should start saving now. It will also discuss retirement goal setting, types of savings strategies, and how to overcome the "retirement roadblocks" that can hinder your planning. Workshop open to men and women. Workshop is free but registration required.  
The Carolina Inn hosts Fridays on the Front Porch every week at 5PM. The Inn offers live music, a picnic menu with beer, wine and drink specials, and plenty of comfortable seating under the shady trees on the Inn's front lawn. No cover charge or reservations for the event.  
Drawing in the Galleries at Ackland
On Saturday, June 8 from 10AM to 12PM join Amanda Hughes (Director of External Affairs) as she leads participants in a creative exploration of a particular object in the Ackland's collection. Bring paper and dry media (crayon, pencils, etc.). All levels are welcome. Free and open to the public. No reservation necessary.
Drawing for Tweens at Ackland - On Saturday, June 8 from 10:30AM to 12PM this program invites 10- to 13-year-olds 
to look at selected works in the Ackland's galleries and identify techniques that the artists used to make them. Gallery teachers demonstrate and teach participants technical skills, which they can then apply to their own artistic creations. A mix of drawing from works on display and creating one's own original works is offered
in each session. Materials are provided. Free to members. | $5 non-members.

Chapel Hill Comics is proud to announce that as part of their 10th/35th Anniversary Festivities, they will host Tom Batiuk on Saturday, June 8, from 2PM until 4PM when he will sign The Complete Funky Winkerbean books one and two! Intro to Inversions Yoga Workshop 

Join instructor Christy on Saturday, June 8 at 12:30PM to demystify arm balances and inversions and make them accessible and enjoyable. This workshop will explore proper preparation and alignment for each pose, entering and exiting the poses 

safely, and discuss where it is best to practice these poses within a class setting. You will work with classic headstand and variations, shoulder stand, crow, side crow and more. You do not have to have any experience with these poses to take this workshop. $15 drop in for non student/$10 drop in for students or use your pass.

June 27, 10:00am-12:00pm: Messy Morning in the Art Room: Monthly art time for the youngest visitors (ages 2-5). Each month they feature different materials and supplies to create fun and messy art. Projects usually take 10-15 minutes to complete and can be done at any time during this program.
Sunday, June 30 at 4:00pm: Spanish-English Storytime with Craft: Free drop-in program.
