The 2013 Friends of the Downtown Candidate Forum will be held on Thursday, August 29 at 10:00am at the Franklin Hotel in Downtown Chapel Hill.
Questions for the candidates will be prepared by Friends of the Downtown board members for the Mayor and Town Council candidates. The forum will begin with candidates who have not run for office before, followed by the incumbent candidates, and then candidates who are running unopposed. Before answering their first question, each candidate will have two minutes to introduce themselves to the audience. After each question, someone from the audience (chosen at the discretion of the Moderator) will ask one follow-up question on the topic. Friends of the Downtown board member Gregg Gerdau will be the moderator of the forum.
Gatherings of the Friends of the Downtown are free and open to the public, with parking available in the lot behind the Franklin Hotel (only on the side facing the hotel) and in the hotel's gated lots as available. Parking is also available in the Town of Chapel Hill public lots. For complete information about parking in downtown Chapel Hill please visit www.parkonthehill.com.
