Message in a Bottle: Pop-Up Art
Saturday, May 3 from 12 pm to 2 pm: "Message in a Bottle" encourages community members, of all ages and across all walks of life, to come together and help build a large art installation. Local artist Helen Seebold will bring painting materials for this pop-up community art-making activity on the Ackland's front steps. Move Out Reuse Rodeo!
Wednesday, April 30 - Saturday, May 3, from 9 am to 2 pm: Orange County Recycling hosts this annual event at the Hargrave's Center "lower lot" on Mitchell Lane. If you are moving or doing some spring cleaning, consider bringing used, but useful items, to this special collection that will benefit local non-profits, reduce waste and support reuse in our community! Items that can be donated include:
* Clean clothing, belts, bags, shoes and accessories
* Small appliances: toasters, microwaves, blenders, heaters (must be in working order)
* Housewares: shelving, lamps, area rugs, dish sets, sheets
* Back-to-School supplies
* Clean, reusable cloth bags
* Cell phones (with chargers if possible)
* electronic equipment will be triaged, donated or recycled
