Press Release: The Rec Room is Under New Ownership

Monday June 9, 2014; Chapel Hill, NC:
The Rec Room, located at 108 Henderson Street under Zog's Pool Hall in downtown Chapel Hill is under new ownership and will have their soft reopening on Thursday, June 12 just in time to host World Cup viewing parties! The Rec Room features an authentic pub-like atmosphere and now offers extended hours and a lunch menu; open from 11 am - 2 am Mon-Sat.  So come to The Rec Room wearing your team jerseys and cheer on your favourite country to victory on one of our HD tellys or projector!

The new owners, Chapel Hill native Ama McLeod and her husband London native Giles McLeod, moved from England to Chapel Hill last year. Giles previously worked as a European Soccer Analyst for the BBC and Eurosport. They chose to open their pub in downtown Chapel Hill because of vibrancy of the international community in a college town, the great location in the heart of Chapel Hill, and strong business atmosphere downtown.  The new owners and their locally-hired staff invite you to The Rec Room for a bite to eat, a pint, and welcome all sports discussions and maybe even some friendly rivalries!
