Chapel Hill-Carrboro Holiday Parade

Saturday, Dec 12 | 10 am-noon

Presented by The Jaycees and the Town of Chapel Hill, the parade starts at the Morehead Planetarium and runs the entire length of Franklin Street on to Carrboro Town Hall. Stake out your curbside spot and enjoy a great community tradition!

Throw on your ugliest sweater and celebrate the holidays. Fitzgerald's Irish Pub will be collecting canned food, in lieu of a cover until 11:30 pm, to donate to the IFC food pantry. Contest for the best (or in this case the worst) sweater!

Breakfast Fundraiser at Al's Burger Shack

Saturday, Dec 12 | 8 am

Al's Burger Shack will be serving breakfast before and during the Holiday Parade. Offering breakfast sandwiches, hot chocolate and coffee. Mention Volunteers for Youth and 15% of the proceeds will be donated to this local youth-serving nonprofit. /

Free Weekend Public Parking for Holidays

Shop local and shop downtown Chapel Hill for the holidays! The Town of Chapel Hill's parking specials continue throughout December during Saturday daytimes at all Town-owned parking lots and metered parking.  After 5 p.m. normal rates will be charged.  Public parking is always free on Sundays! Visit for a map and list of downtown parking options.
