Windows on Chapel Hill Brings Art to the Streets

Downtown Chapel Hill storefronts have come to life with three new installations by local artists on Franklin Street!  A collaborative project between the Chapel Hill Downtown Partnership, The Town of Chapel Hill's Public and Cultural Arts Office, and smArts creative programs & events, Windows on Chapel Hill brings eye-catching pop-up art displays to downtown storefronts, promotes artists in our community and further establishes downtown Chapel Hill as a dynamic space for art.

New this spring Windows on Chapel Hill has two store front locations and one on-the-street, interactive installation. This season's installations are located at 104 West Franklin Street, 108 East Franklin Street, and on the metal railings at 409 West Franklin Street.

Installations will run March 1 through the end of June 2015. This is the fourth year of Windows on Chapel Hill; having installed 21 different artists since 2011.

All are invited to an artists' reception for the Windows on Chapel Hill during the 2nd FridayArtWalk on Friday, April 10 from 6 pm to 8 pm atZog's Art Bar & Pool Hall at 108 Henderson Street, Chapel Hill.  Meet the artists, enjoy food, and learn more about this great collaborative arts initiative.
