20 Places to Shop Dowtown for Father's Day Gifts for $25 (or so)!

FATHER’S DAY is this weekend on Sunday, June 21. Not sure what to get your dad for Fathers Day this year? Don’t have a ton of money to spend? Well here are some great ideas for gifts; all from shops in downtown Chapel Hill!

If Dad is a Tar Heels fan:
This one is easy, because where else in the world would you go to shop for a Carolina fan? Franklin Street! Shrunken Head Boutique, Chapel Hill Sportswear, Johnny T-shirt, and Chapel Hill Fan Shop have you covered with the best selection of clothing, gear and memorabilia for all UNC lovers. Hats, t-shirts, mugs, and accessories abound here!

If Dad is active and likes to bike:
Then head down to The Bicycle Chain! They have a great selection of bicycle accessories like tire pumps, travel bags, bike mirrors, bells, baskets, grips and more.

If Dad needs to be stylin' wherever he goes:
If that’s it then you should stop by the Gentleman’s Corner and Julian's– they have a great collection of  hats and visors, socks, accessories, and even some great t-shirts .Now you may go over the $25 budget at these spots but isn't Dad worth it?

If Dad is truly unique:
Then head over to Underground Printing and make him a custom T-shirt to tell him exactly what he means to you. I heart Dad!

If Dad likes to read:
Chapel Hill Comics has a huge collection of comic books, even an awesome collection of older comics like Superman from the early 70’s. They also have action figures, collectible figures, graphic novels, and memorabilia.  The Bookshop is right next door and carries current titles from the NYTimes Bestseller’s List all the way to first editions of obscure literature. Those are a little bit more than $25. But you will be able to find a book on every interest Dad has at the Bookshop.

If Dad likes music:
CD Alley has a huge selection of music from all different genres and artists. Not into CDs? Don’t worry they also have a great selection of music on vinyl. Any  generation can find something to love here.

If Dad needs a new look:
Syd’s Hair Shop, Salon 135, d.b. Sutton’s, Moshi Moshi and all the downtown salons sell different lines of hair products for women and men. Help dad get that beachy look this summer!

If Dad is the cook in the family and loves food:
The Mediterranean Market has a great selection of fresh and imported foods and spices perfect for a would-be chef.  Put together a gift basket of spices, sauces, oils, and more.  Spend an evening making dinner together – that’s a special gift!

If Dad is more about the experience:
Go to Varsity Theatre and catch a movie together, and don’t forget the popcorn! See an improv or stand up show at DSI Comedy Theater. Book a tour at the Topo Distillery and enjoy tasting their full line of organic spirits.

Don’t forget the card for Dad:
Ackland Museum Store always has beautiful and witty cards for every occasion. They are miniature works of art themselves. And if you still haven't found a gift for Dad at these other businesses, Ackland Museum Store is full of delightful items Dad will love.

Franklin Street is definitely the go to place to find unique, fun, and interesting gifts for your dad’s special day  -- Sunday, June 21 – all for $25 (or so)!
