Priceless Gems Tour
Friday, September 18 at 3 pm: Explore the UNC campus and get an archaeological glimpse into remnants of UNC in the 19th century. Stephen Davis, associate director of UNC's Research Laboratories of Archaeology, will discuss the University's early days and its transformations. Tours begin at UNC Visitors' Center. Friday, September 18 from 6 pm to 9 pm: The soaring vocal harmonies from Season & Snare will take you to a whole new level. You'll enjoy this sweet, indie pop duo. All Live & Local events take place on the plaza at 140 West Franklin Street and are free and open to all.

Primetime Comedy at DSI Comedy Theater

Family Days at Baxter Arcade

The Helping Hand Benefit Concert
Friday, September 18 from 7 pm to 10 pm: Enjoy live music from Shakedown Street, a local Grateful Dead tribute band, at a benefit concert for The Helping Hand Project, a student/volunteer run UNC charity. Tickets can be bought for $8 online or at the show for $10. The money raised will help students make custom prosthetic devices for children in need. Held in Forest Theater on UNC's campus. Music in the Galleries at Ackland
Sunday, September 20 from 2 pm to 3 pm: At Ackland Art Museum, this Sunday's Music in the Galleries will begin with a discussion of artist Nam June Paik, a featured artist in the current exhibition Testing Testing. Members of the Experimental Music Study Group will discuss Paik's relationship to the musical world and to the artistic network Fluxus. Following this, experimental Triangle-based music collective Cyanotype will perform in the galleries. Free and open to all. 

Salsa Dancing at Roots Bistro
Salsa dancing and music every Monday with DJ Abuelo Salsero Jack. Featuring Salsa along with Bachata, Merengue, Cha Cha, and Kizomba. Basic Salsa lessons at 8:30, dancing from 9-11:30. Cover is $5.
