Movies Under the Stars

Let the stars be your guide all summer long! Free showing of Lilo & Stitch on top of the Wallace Parking Deck at 150 E. Rosemary Street. Bring a chair or blanket to sit on. Fridays on the Front Porch at Carolina Inn

Every Friday | 5-8 pm

The Carolina Inn hosts this popular end-of-the-work week celebration with live music, food trucks, and plenty of comfortable seating under the shady oaks and magnolias on the Inn's front lawn. Free.

Two New Star Shows 

Beginning on June 11, Morehead Planetarium & Science Center will have two new fulldome shows; "The Little Star That Could" and "Cosmic Colors." "The Little Star That Could" is the story of an average yellow star in search of planets of his own to protect and warm. "Cosmic Colors" discovers the many reasons for color - like why the sky is blue and why Mars is red. For a full schedule visit

The Pool is Now Open!

The A. D. Clark Pool at the Hargraves Community Center, 216 N. Roberson St., is now open for the summer season. The free outdoor swimming pool, operated by the Town of Chapel Hill Parks and Recreation Department, is available for lap swimming and open swim time now through Labor Day. The 25 meter pool offers a zero-depth entry pool, locker rooms, showers and family changing area. There is a wading pool for pre-school aged children and toddlers.
