FRANK Gallery hosts Super G Print Lab, Durham's Pied Piper of printmaking, for three hands-on screen printing demonstrations for children ages 6 - 14. Registration is required; 919-636-4135 or to register your child.

Fridays on the Front Porch at Carolina Inn

The Carolina Inn hosts this popular end-of-the-work week celebration with live music, food trucks, and plenty of comfortable seating under the shady oaks and magnolias on the Inn's front lawn. Free.

Ackland Art Museum hosts a performance by the Bluegrass Battleship, presented in connection with All About America: Photographs by Burk Uzzle. Immerse yourself in the sounds of the late 1960s, with Bluegrass Battleship’s take on music from the Woodstock and Civil Rights eras. Free. 
PlayMakers Repertory Company presents the Broadway musical "Violet" as the culmination of its popular Summer Youth Conservatory.  A cast of student actors from 14 Triangle-area schools will perform in the Paul Green Theatre, from July 21-30. Tickets may be purchased by calling (919) 962-7529, online, or at the PlayMakers box office.

Local 506 hosts the brand new location for the legendary Monday Night Open Mic carried on from the now-closed Station at Southern Rail in Carrboro. New location, new sound, bigger stage.

The Pool is Open!

The A. D. Clark Pool at the Hargraves Community Center, 216 N. Roberson St., is open for the summer season. The free outdoor swimming pool, operated by the Town of Chapel Hill Parks and Recreation Department, is available for lap swimming and open swim time now through Labor Day. There is a wading pool for pre-school aged children and toddlers.
