2nd Friday ArtWalk in Chapel Hill & Carrboro

2nd Friday ArtWalk
Friday, April 14
6 pm to 9 pm

In addition to 12 venues hosting receptions for local artists, hands-on-art demonstrations, and live music; ArtWalkers will experience three special events to celebrate Poetry Month and Architecture Month this week:
(1)  Bright green, fluffy WORDS are slowly growing out of the ground everywhere in our community. Experience FLORAFFITI and spoken word performances with artist Carter Hubbard at 10-15 of her FLORAFFITI sites, near ArtWalk venues.

(2) Mimi Herman, 2017 Piedmont Laureate, will host an Art and Treasure Hunt for ArtWalkers to create their own ekphrastic poems as they stroll along Carrboro and Chapel Hill to the venues. Then you'll have the chance to perform it live at an open mic at The ArtsCenter.
(3) April is Architecture Month and AIA Triangle is celebrating by exemplifying the importance, beauty, and significance of architecture in our communities. Local architecture firms are opening their doors for an Architecture Firm Crawl during the ArtWalk. Stop by the firm offices to see models, photos, plans of their projects; and meet the architects.
2nd Friday ArtWalk events and activities are free and open to all.
