If you're a fan of '60s rock music and craft beer, this is the event for you. Based in Chapel Hill, The BackBeat is a quartet of men who take great pride in performing covers of songs by The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Van Morrison and more. Enjoy their funky style with signature drafts and delicious burgers at Carolina Brewery.

Looking for a place to enjoy the sunshine on the 4th? Top of the Hill is the perfect spot in the middle of downtown to grab some drinks and sport your Chapel Hill pride. They'll have their bartender's choice cocktail special for $5 all day long to wash down their classic Franklin Street Nachos.

Come out for a DSI show Saturdayevening that'll have both you and the kids laughing! This clean, interactive improv show is perfect for all ages and only $6 for kids. Plus, if the kids bring their favorite book, costume or stuffed animal they could be called on stage and relish in a fun moment of fame.
Tuesday, July 4th, 7-10 PM
What better way to celebrate Independence Day than with fireworks, food, music, and old fashioned family fun not too far from your doorstep? The Town of Chapel Hill is hosting a 4th of July family celebration with everything from food trucks to face painting to a watermelon eating contest! Donations of $5 per family are suggested, but not required.
You may have heard that our beloved bookstore downtown is closing, but they're not going out without a bang. Get your summer reading on and grab a few great books for you and the kids at a discount all next week! The Bookshop is offering 60% off any purchase of $20 or more, and the remaining empty bookcases are being sold for only $30 each.
Sunday Brunch Spotlight: Ye Olde Waffle Shoppe
This downtown classic is perfect for those with a sweet tooth. Their M&M or Reese's waffles and pancakes are to die for, or try their bacon and egg biscuit if you’re still feeling savory. Enjoy the timeless vintage feel inside Saturdays and Sundays from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. and expect to spend around $7-9.
