Grant Applications Now Open

Grants for Business and Property Improvements

The Chapel Hill Downtown Partnership offers three grants to downtown businesses and property owners to encourage renovation of facades and investment in appropriate design; all to preserve and enhance the architectural character that is unique to Chapel Hill.

1. Facade Improvement Grant

The Downtown Partnership offers $500 matching Facade Improvement Grants to downtown businesses and property owners.  Priority is given to projects that add or enhance lighting to properties.  Other eligible projects include, but are not limited to, new signs, awnings, and repair/replacement of facade windows and doors.

2. Sidewalk Dining Grant

With continuing streetscape improvements downtown, there is more available and accessible space for sidewalk dining. We want your business to increase your seating and add vibrancy to the street.  For a limited time we have $400non-matching grants to assist with the purchase of tables and chairs as well as the cost of the required permits.

3. Paint & Supplies Grant

This new grant can help businesses tackle small exterior painting projects to keep your business's entrance looking great year round!  While funds are available, we are offering $250 in non-matching grants for the purchase of paint and materials for the exterior of your downtown business or building.

Orange County Business Investment Grants

Orange County offers an exciting grant program available to small businesses at two levels.  Small grants of up to $1,500, and large grants of up to $10,000.  Next deadline is March 31, 2018.
